Upon graduation, Brown continually worked in offices of government and law hold- ing titles such as law clerk, supreme court clerk and public defender. From 2003-2005, Jackson was an assistant special counsel to the United States Sentencing Commission and as an assis- tant federal public defender for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit from 2005 to 2007. In 2009, President Obama nominated Judge Jackson to serve as the Vice Chair of the U.S. Sentencing Commission, which she was confirmed to with bipartisan support in 2010. She continued to have President Obama's sup- port as she moved into work as a district court judge for the District of Columbia. In 2021, Judge Brown worked as a judge for the U.S.

Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit before her appointment to the Supreme Court earlier this year. During her time in these positions, Judge Jackson has served justices on an array of cases, many of which included issues of immi- gration, just punishments, worker's rights and congressional investigations. Some of her most notable cases have included Pierce v. District of Columbia, Center for Biological Diversity v. McAleenan and the Committee on the Judiciary of the U.S. House of Representatives v. McGahn. Upon her confirmation to the U.S. Supreme Court, Justice Jackson received support from political figures, celebrities and the general public alike. Notable figures that congratu- lated Jackson included President Joe Biden, who was with Jackson when news broke of her election, former President Barack Obama, John Legend, Viola Davis, Jimmy Fallon and many more. Judge Jackson's confirmation was a his- toric moment for our nation, President Biden stated on Twitter following Judge Jackson's confirmation to the court, We've taken another step toward making our highest court reflect the diversity of America. She will be an incredible Justice, and I was honored to share this moment with her.
