Stephanie Allain:
First Black Woman President of the Producers Guild
In 1950, the Producers Guild of America (PGA) was established to represent and protect the rights of the biggest producers in Hollywood. Now, over 70 years later, the organization has elected its first woman of color to be their president. Stephanie Allain is a writer and producer who has produced several credits, but is best known for supervising work on the hit film, Boyz N the Hood . As proud members of the PGA for over 20 years, it's a great privilege to serve as presidents, Allain and her co-president, Donald De Line, stated according to Deadline . We will continue to educate the industry on the role of the producer, support producers' efforts for fair and commensurate compensation and benefits, welcome and encourage a more diverse membership and endeavor to attain broader healthcare coverage while educating members on the current benefits and opportunities available to them.
