O
ur country is in a fight for its future. We, as a nation, are working to determine who we are and who we need to be moving forward. During this time, it can seem as if more is pushing us back than springing us forward, but the Black EOE Journal and its staff, remains committed to our ideals of a world and an American workplace that is built on inclusivity and mutual respect. Thus, it is with excitement that this month's issue honors living legend, artist and social activist - Cedric the Entertainer. A director, writer, standup comedian, award show host and original King of Comedy, Cedric has been entertaining and fighting for a better tomorrow for almost 30 years. I'm just motivated continually to do great work, Cedric shared with Black EOE Journal . And he is just as serious in his businesses and entertainment career as he is about philanthropy and social activism, We do need people who are all about the advocacy; they've got to stay and make people accountable, to show that we're necessary. Learn more about his journey and what plans he has next on page 90. As you seek to make a difference in your own way, we encourage job seekers to read about Finding a Workplace to Match Your Values on page 24 and everyone to learn The Importance of LGBTQ+ Stories on page 136. If your company or small business is considering making a significant financial move in the future, be sure to check out, 7 Questions to Ask Before Making a Large Business Investment on page 74. Remember, this is not the first time that we as individuals or a country have been confronted with setbacks or disappointment. It is an opportune moment, to steel our hearts for the fight that must continue.
