witter has named Dalana Brand Chief People and Diversity Officer. She will lead the companys Global People Team, as well as inclusion, diversity, equity and accessibility initiatives while working with executive man- agement and the Board of Directors to support the companys strategic direction. We are on a journey to become the worlds most inclusive, diverse, equitable and acces- sible technology company, which is key to serving the public conversation, said Brand. Im grateful for the opportunity to lead the companys global workforce and accelerate the progress we've made to create the best; most inclusive people experience for everyone at Twitter. Brand joined Twitter in 2018, most recently serving as Vice President of People Experience and Head of Inclusion & Diversity. She becomes the first Black woman and third Black C-Suite executive at Twitter since the company went public in 2013. Prior to her time at Twitter, Brand was Vice President of Total Rewards for Electronic Arts, Inc. and spent nine years in various senior leadership positions at Whirlpool Corporation. Throughout her career, she has focused on designing and developing global people pro- grams that create a fair and inclusive culture while helping to advance business strategy. Currently, Dalana also serves as a board mem- ber of ColorComm, Compass Family Services and Enterprise for Youth. She earned a Master of Business Administration with a dual degree in finance and human resources, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in finance from Michigan State University. In the new role, Brand will focus on initia- tives such as expanding Twitter's decentralized work strategy, creating an inclusive environ- ment for employees around the world regard- less of where they work, as well as prioritizing transparency and accountability throughout the company through initiatives like pay trans- parency. Brand will also continue to focus on the companys 2025 vision - a set of ambi- tious representation goals for a more diverse and inclusive future. ber of women, Black and Latinx employees in 2021. In fact, according to Twitters Annual Report, U.S. Job offers increased across the board across minorities and women. Hires identifying as Black went from 4.3 percent to 11.2 percent Hires identifying as Latinx went from two percent to 10.2 percent Hires identifying as women went from 18.9 percent to 37.6 percent International hires identifying as women went from 20.8 percent to 46 percent Under Brands leadership, Twitter hopes to further increase their initiatives for diversity through further protocols for diverse hiring and enhancing their accessibility across platforms.
