osalind Roz Brewer is far from a stranger in the world of business. Regarded as one of the most prominent women exec- utives and included in Fortunes 50 Most Powerful Women in Business, Brewer has served as the CEO, COO, and President of large- scale corporations since the early 2000s. Now, Brewer is now taking on her newest endeavor as the CEO of the Walgreens Boots Alliance, making her the second African American woman CEO of a Fortune 500 company and the first African American woman to become a CEO for Walgreens Boots Alliance. The Board conducted an extensive search to identify an excep- tional leader who will build on WBAs track-record of success and take advantage of the many growth opportunities in many markets across the company, former CEO, Stefano Pessina stated in a press release, We are excited to have found that person in Roz. Her relentless focus on the customer, talent development, operational rigor and strong expertise in digital and technological transformation are exactly what WBA needs as the com- pany enters its next chapter. Coming into WBA, Brewer brings her track record of leadership skills, operational and corporate expertise. She previously served as the President and CEO of Sams Club under Walmart Incorporated, President of the Global Nonwovens Sector at and the COO and Group President of Starbucks Corporation, using her extensive knowledge in the field to incorporate digital technology, improve sales, improve the shopper experience, and to expand global outreach and strategy. She has additionally acted as a director of corporations such as Amazon, Lockhead Martin, and Molson Coors Brewing Company.
